Ray "States' Rights" McBerry for Georgia Division Commander 2008
Candidate Qualifications

The Georgia Division needs a commander who possesses experience, knowledge, and the zeal to carry our Division forward. The war currently being waged our against our Heritage demands a commander who is both capable of reinvigorating the troops, recruiting other Georgians to take our noble stand with us, and to also press the fight to the enemy! Ray McBerry is that kind of a proven leader!

Ray is knowledgeable in our history and heritage, is known for his passionate speeches for our Cause, and is vigorous in the promotion of our Southern Cause.

The Georgia Division needs a commander who possesses a commanding presence in speaking for the Cause, whether behind a lectern in one of our own meetings or behind a microphone on radio and television... Ray McBerry is such a man!

In just a few weeks from now, the Georgia Division will have the opportunity to decide what kind of leadership we want to lead us forward... Ray McBerry will provide the kind of positive, professional, and proven leadership that will breathe fire into the fight and will lead us to victory in the cultural war being waged against our heritage!

What has Ray done for the Cause? What are his qualifications to lead our Division? Why does the Georgia Division NEED the leadership that Ray McBerry will bring to our Cause?

Ray is a leader... Ray is an activist for the Cause... not just someone who "talks" about our heritage!

Flag Fight #1 - Ray personally put up half the money for the first batch of LetUsVote signs that eventually dotted the entire Georgia landscape during our effort to unseat Gov. Roy Barnes after he stole the people's flag... in all, more than 9,000 LetUsVote signs moved across Ray's front porch during that effort!

County Flag Fight - Ray led the effort in Henry County to introduce a resolution to adopt the 1956 REAL Georgia flag as the official county flag in an effort to keep the flag issue alive and in the media during the campaign against Roy Barnes. In that one County, flag rallies were held and more than 2,000 signatures were presented to the county commissioners; the county chairman proposed that the flag should be adopted! Even when the measure did not pass, untold thousands of dollars of media coverage were gained locally, regionally, and in the statewide press because of Henry County's size and close proximity to Atlanta... and the issue contributed to the unseating of two scalawag and one carpetbagger county commissioner (who still blames Ray and our flag for his defeat to this very day)!

Flag Fight #2 - Ray personally participated in lobbying efforts to get our promised statewide referendum on the 1956 REAL Georgia flag after we put Sonny into office and then broke his word to the people of Georgia in order to broker his own deals with the Chamber of Commerce! Ray was one of a handful of men representing our various Southern Heritage organisations who was asked to sit across the conference table from the leaders of the state chamber of commerce and vowed "no compromise" on the flag referendum discussion.

Ten Commandments - When the Yankee federal courts ordered Chief Justice Roy Moore's Ten Commandments monument to be removed from the Alabama Judicial Building, as well as several local county courthouses around the South, Ray personally led the effort to have the Ten Commandments officially placed in the Henry County courthouse and led a Ten Commandments rally in support of Barrow County, whose own display was ordered to be removed by federal courts.

Living history presentations - Ray has conducted or participated in scores of "living history" presentations to teach our history and heritage to the general public, especially to school-age children.

A fiery speaker for the Cause - Ray has been one of most-requested speakers in Southern Movement for nearly ten years, with literally hundreds of speaking engagements. His speech "Southern Redemption" is still one of the most requested speeches in the Movement today.

Sam Davis Youth Camp - Ray has been an ardent supporter of the educational efforts of the SCV, particularly the Sam Davis Youth Camps for our young people; and he has been a speaker at the Camps for the past two years.

History Teacher - As a former high school and college teacher, Ray was faithful to teach our history and heritage to his students, even when various administrations attempted to quiet his efforts. He was even successful in getting "Confederate Heritage Month" officially recognised in the last government school that he taught high school, which resulted in having pro-Southern morning announcements personally written by Ray read over the PA system every morning for a month, having reenactors brought in to speak on the truth of the War to the entire student body, and conducting an essay contest which had participants from every grade level in the school.

DixieBroadcasting Radio - Begun as a labour of love for our Cause, Ray founded DixieBroadcasting Radio which is not only the only Southern Heritage radio station in the world... but which has grown to become one of the largest Internet Radio stations in the world now, with more than 15,000 listeners monthly. Nearly 3 quarters of a million listeners have tuned in to the Southern message on DixieBroadcasting since it's inception in 2002! DixieBroadcasting has run many commercials for recruitment to the SCV, promotion of SCV activities such as the Stephen D Lee Institute and the Sam Davis Youth Camps, and also broadcast the actual teleconferences of the attempted coup several years ago... broadcasts which were praised by CIC Denne Sweeney and Past CIC Ron Wilson as the greatest tool in getting the truth out to the SCV membership during those dark days! Southern Heritage Music Awards - In order to promote the musical artists of the Southern Movement who provide such an important part of our Heritage, Ray founded the SHMAwards and the Southern Heritage Music Association. The SHMA has resulted in getting the music of our Southern Heritage musicians more airplay on mainstream radio stations across the South and continues to work for that end. "States' Rights" Republican Candidate for Governor of Georgia in 2006 - When no other candidate stepped forward to oppose Sonny Perdue for lying to the people of Georgia about our flag (and a myriad of other issues, too), Ray agreed, at the urging of many members of the Georgia Division, to run as the first statewide candidate fielded from among our own ranks in the Southern Movement in Georgia. With the hard work of many of the men in this Division, after only 90 days to campaign and with no money in the bank on the morning of qualifying for office... Ray did what none of the political pundits said could be done... against an incumbent within his own political party, with no media support, with no mainstream Republican Party support, and in the lowest voter turnout primary in recent history... Ray garnered approximately 50,000 votes as the first "States' Rights" candidate for governor of any Southern state in at least a generation. More important than the actual votes won, Ray succeeded in taking the "States' Rights" message of our ancestors to the general public, once again introducing it to mainstream political discussion. In all, Ray gave more than 30 radio interviews, 30+ newspaper interviews, and numerous public speaking appearances... giving our people one of our own for which to vote for a change... instead of settling for crumbs from the table of lying politicians!
