In an email endorsement received yesterday, Dr. Clyde Wilson has given his support to Ray McBerry in the campaign for Georgia Division commander. Dr. Wilson is history professor at the University of South Carolina and has been instrumental within the Sons of Confederate Veterans in leading the Stephen D. Lee Institute for the past several years. He is considered the premiere scholar world-wide on Southern statesman John C. Calhoun and is also known for his promotion of Southern educational efforts on the part of the SCV state and national organisations.
I have known compatriot Ray McBerry for several years, and I have the highest regard for his dedication to the mission of the SCV. Even more important, Ray's experience and abilities will make him a superb public spokesman for us. Ray knows what needs to be done to lead the Division and how to do it.
